Covaris Ultrasonicator (S2 Series)
The Covaris Ultrasonicator uses Adaptive Focused Acoustics (AFA) to fragment DNA with mechanical energy. To learn more about the technology please visit the Covaris website.
Currently the GSL offers sample shearing for a variety of different average base pair sizes including 150, 200, 300, 400, 500, 800, 1000, and 1500bp. The Covaris S2 is capable of shearing 5ugs or less of material in 130ul of Tris EDTA at a time and the results are highly reproducible.
